AUFC Fall Season Begins!

September 16th, 2018 by admin

AUFC has had a great start to the fall season! We have already had a tremendous effort by many of our players and teams. Countless of our teams were down going into the second half of their games but managed to compete, score and make a game of it the last two weeks. Many of our teams had 4-5 different players scoring in the same game, and one of our teams even played a man down the entire match. We are extremely excited about what we will see the next 10 weeks!

We have had 6 tournament champions, 2 second place finishes and 2 third place finishes in the two Albuquerque preseason tournaments.

Rio Open:

  • AUFC 09 Girls won the tournament winning 2-0 in the championship game!
  • AUFC 07 Girls only had one goal scored against them all weekend and won the tournament 2-0!
  • AUFC 09 Boys took second place in an extremely close championship game losing by 1 goal.
  • AUFC 08 Boys took 3rd place
  • AUFC 06 Boys beat their Rio rival in the championship game 1-0!
  • AUFC 05 boys won the tournament – scoring a total of 18 goals throughout the 4 games.
  • AUFC 04 Boys finished the tournament on top with a whopping 7-0 win!

Rush Open:

  • AUFC 09 Girls lost 1-2 in championship, playing in the 09 boys bracket.
  • AUFC 09 White B took 3rd place
  • AUFC 07 White Girls went undefeated and were tournament champions!

Duke City First two weeks:

AUFC already has 9 Shut outs and 119 goals in the first 2 weeks of season (43 games). We have a couple shout outs to some individuals who really stood out the last two weeks.

  • Jayden on the AUFC 2010 team with 6 goals in his first Duke City game!
  • Ava scoring the only AUFC goal in a tough game for the 2010 G team & Sophia playing hard until the final whistle.
  • Diego and Carlos showed a tremendous effort on the 2008 white team after being down by 3 goals going into the second half.
  • Edwin worked hard in goal for the 2008 Boys team

DPL:

Congrats to our 05, 06 & 07 teams that are competing in the very competitive Desert Premier League. Our 06 Boys team had a rough first showing but we are confident as they get used to the higher level of play they will continue to compete and win. Our 05 Girls team went 1-1-1 – every game was better than the last!  And finally our 07 girls team had their first showing in the league as well, competing hard and coming away with 2 close losses and 1 tie.
